An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
